Save Our Youths from Substance Abuse
Join the Fight!
The destructive impact of substance abuse on the Tamil youth in the North and East of Sri Lanka is a growing concern that demands urgent attention. To combat this issue, the Joint Jaffna Medical Faculty Overseas Alumni, in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Jaffna, has initiated a groundbreaking project called the Drug Abuse Prevention Programme.
This program aims to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse among school students and provide treatment and rehabilitation facilities for those already affected. We appeal to your generosity and support to make a difference in the lives of our youth and secure a brighter future for them.
Objective:
The primary objective of the Drug Abuse Prevention Programme is to tackle the alarming increase in drug use, particularly ICE and heroin, among the Tamil youth in the North and East regions of Sri Lanka.
By implementing this project, we aim to:
1. Raise Awareness: Educate school students about the risks and consequences of drug abuse through comprehensive awareness programs.
2. Prevention Measures: Establish preventive measures within schools, including workshops, seminars, and interactive sessions, to empower students with the knowledge and skills to say no to drugs.
3. Treatment and Rehabilitation: Provide accessible and effective treatment and rehabilitation facilities for individuals already trapped in the vicious cycle of drug addiction.
