We've launched a pilot project at the University of Jaffna called "வார்ப்பு" (Varppu) - a student-centred life skills development programme that aims to safeguard our future generation – Funded By JMFOA-Canada.

In this initiative, we're providing training to 30 university lecturers who will become trainers themselves. We'll equip university students with essential life skills through engaging and activity-based learning components.

The training workshop was well-received, with 28 (27 academic volunteers from the University of Jaffna and one volunteer from the RDHS office in Jaffna) attending the sessions.

The feedback received from the participants was overwhelmingly positive, indicating that they found the workshop informative, practical, and relevant to their needs and needs of the current younger generation. 

Session at the Sidha Medicine 

November 18&25, 2023

“The Varppu" Life Skills team successfully delivered sessions at the Unit of Siddha Medicine, University of Jaffna, on November 18th and 25th, 2023.

The session commenced promptly at 9 a.m. and continued until 12.15 p.m., with a brief 20-minute refreshment break in between. The delivery session was well-received, with 50 students attending. The students were divided into smaller groups to facilitate better interaction and engagement. This allowed for more personalized attention and facilitated deeper discussions on the topics covered.
